Overview
PhotoInfoEx
- gives comfortable review of digital photographs and connected to them in-built
information (EXIF, IPTC). The program is maintaining a number of file formats
of images, both ordinary ones like Jpeg and Tiff, and specific formats like RAW (Crw, Nef, Raw, Raf,
Dcr and so on).
The edit
mode for the information types as EXIF
and IPTC is available only for Jpeg and Tiff images. The program is possessed
by the standard Windows-like interface which makes it easier to copy, to delete
and to remove files. For storing and renewal of
inbuilt information the system "Backup/Restore" is applied. The program
is representing both a standard file information (dimension, date, accuracy)
and a specific information for certain files such as Jpeg, Gif, Tiff, Bmp and
so on.).
Such
functions as printing and exporting of inbuilt information into other popular
applications like Microsoft Word and Excel
are available as well.
Getting started
After you
have started up the program, you shall choose a folder with the pictures at the
left panel.
If the
folder contains some pictures, you will see the decreased copies (Thumbnails)of
images at the central panel. Clicking on thumbnails, you can view and edit a
diverse information given by a photographic cameras producer. You can select some photos, for group editing metadata.
You can
choose an information representation type by selecting buttons at the right
lower corner.
 
Before the
editing of information of type EXIF and IPTC, you can store it, clicking on the
"Backup"-button. After the information editing you have to
click on the Save.
File operations
All file
operations are available by means of the file menu which is located at the
right upper corner.
You can
copy, delete and remove files the same way as in Windows Explorer, by using "DragAndDrop"
and contextual menus.
Accentuation
of a group of files can be performed with the help of toolbar-buttons or
quick-call buttons (CTRL + A, CTRL + I).
Printing & Exporting
Information
about operations is available on the "Print" and "Export" windows. You can
print a photograph and its appropriate information.
Export is
performed into internal as for PhotoInfoEx file format (.info), which can be
used for import as well. You can also execute exporting of data into the file
formats in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
Multilanguage
You can
vary language of program interface on your own. Execute copying of such files
as english.lng, english.dic from the
program directory called «Languages» into a individual folder. Perform editing
of the line values after the "="-sign with help of any text editor which
support unicode. Rename the files, for example, into french.lng, french.dic and copy them back to the program folder «Languages». After the
program reloading, under "TOOLS", it will appear a new menu with the language
that you have named.
